Classroom Management Philosophy
Developing relationships and establishing consistent routines are crucial for creating a safe learning environment. Making sure my students' needs are met and showing my interest and care for them
will create a positive work environment. I also see the value and importance in establishing
procedures and rules from the beginning of the school year. Setting high but realistic
expectations for my students to see posted throughout the classroom while
supporting them to meet these goals will help with the
management of my future classroom.

Behavior Management
There are many potential behaviors that can arise in the classroom setting, so I plan on dealing with those behaviors through redirecting the students, giving them options for a sense of control, and teaching
them self-regulation strategies. In addition, I will apply consequences if necessary,
but I will show empathy while dealing with potential issues.

- I have had some professional development opportunities regarding social/emotional health through Light of Christ Schools (2019).

- I have volunteered at BECEP's Head Start Program with students who were from low SES backgrounds and who had behavioral issues (2019).
